Colorado "Renaissance Festival" Blast from the Past!
The Festivals history leads 39 years back to Morrison, Colorado, where it was originally a tear down show for 2 years. The operators then brought it to Castle Rock and finally Larkspur was the final destination and the site was appropriately developed. Jim Paradise Sr.and his son Jim Jr., have been the owners ever since the move to Larkspur. The late Renaissance Festival featured about 60 booths in the early years and now has boomed well over 200. The tradesmen not only sell their medieval goods along the streets but display their skills and demonstrate the processes as well. Live demonstrations include pottery, blacksmiths, glass-blowing as well as leather making and wood working. This is a great place to find hand crafted quality goods or just to appreciate the arts and sights.
This actual village with acres and acres of land, is known for its entertainment as well as the talented artisans. Magic shows to comedy, singing wenches to flamethrowers, you'll never be bored and can be entertained by over 10 stages and 20 acts a day! Celtic bands with storming sounds, beautiful dancers balancing knives, and hilarious comedy shows are scattered throughout the days making it easy to attend a variety of shows. Do not miss the infamous Combat Jousting, where fully armored knights joust for their maidens love and their Kings approval. Live out your nostalgic fantasy and join in the many interactive actives like face painting, hair braiding, you can sit down with a fortuneteller or throw tomatoes at the village idiot. Get ready to eat, drink, laugh and dance at Colorado's infamous Renaissance Festival!
